Let me just say, that I am not a Bible scholar by any means, and what I write is not based on any commentary or books, only the notes I take on what I read. Therefore, if I write something that is incorrect or misleading, please let me know and remove the post so that no one else falls into error.

Today I was struck by a few things that almost seem prophetic:

Exodus 19:11 & 15: "Let them be ready for the third day."

19:13 When the trumpet sounds long, they shall come near the mountain (near to God). I don't know about you, but I'm listening for the same sound that tells me I'm outa here and going home! One time I was driving, and I heard the long blast of a trumpet and I was like "Yes!" and waited to start flying, but I guess it was just a unique sounding horn.

I could go into a lot on the 10 commandments; who couldn't? I know that #7 tends to bug me a lot when folks do it, and it's very common. As a comedian I heard at Rock the Universe pointed out, you don't often hear people saying, "Oh, Buddha!" or "Harre H Krishna!" when they're upset.

20:18 I'm happy we no longer have to tremble in fear when God speaks to us, but it is good to maintain a holy reverence. Remember, Jesus is not our homeboy.

Matthew 18:21-35
If we don't forgive on a continuous basis, we will not experience a joyful Christian life. Anger and bitterness weigh us down. There are two people (not you guys) who I have to continually purpose to forgive; one is still needling me every chance they get, one has simply decided they want nothing to do with me or my family, but has a long history, so things come up now and then and anger flares up like a....nevermind. But my point is, the feelings of forgiveness aren't always there; like love, I can't always manufacture it in my own strength. I need the help of the Holy Spirit, or to humble myself before God and cry "I can't do this on my own, Lord, and I love You and want to be obedient. Help me to forgive! Let there be less of me and more of You." Sometimes several times in one day. Satan loves us to fall into the trap that we have to do it on our own; we can't, and we'll ultimately wear ourselves out trying and give up. Don't. We have the biggest, best, strongest, most loving Daddy ever, and He will never leave us forsake us, He promised. How cool is that?
