Matthew 10:21 This is happening in persecuted countries today, even as we speak/read/type. Remember Hebrews 13:3
10:23 What does this mean? Anyone? I'll go to Pastor Chuck's commentary and check it out...I mean the part about going through all the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.
We're so precious to God...I don't think I could ever be ashamed of someone who loves me as much as He does. Granted, I haven't been in any "deny Christ or die" situations, but I dunno....I really like to think I'm more afraid of denying Him than of death. Of course, Peter probably thought the same thing.
V 37 We see again that Christ MUST BE FIRST. Oh, that's so hard! I mean, He is waaay up there. It's easy to say "What STUFF gets in the way of my relationship with Christ?" But what about events, people, etc. Who do we love most? What/who is first on my mind when I open my eyes in the morning? There was a time when I was going through some stuff, and every morning I thought, "Before my feet hit the floor, I'll praise You, Lord, I'll praise You, Lord." And then I lost it. I would open my eyes and think, "Coffee!" And I prayed, "Lord, if You have to bring adversity upon me to get us that close again, bring it on, cuz I need You more than anything"..... So He did. See? He hears.
V 38, 42: Following Christ is not a cake-walk. Be Jesus to everyone you meet, and not in a fake or pious kind of way. OK?
Genesis 36:15 So many chiefs, not enough.....nevermind.
37:5 Another dreamy time!
37:10 It was probably a good idea to tell Joseph to can it; the kid was making some trouble. His story affected me a lot a few years ago, in fact it led to my finally forgiving someone I'd been estranged from for 8 years. That feels really good, and she remains forgiven and in my prayers, even though she didn't get it.
38:7, 10 Whoa....these guys cheezed off God, and He killed them. May I never be one of those people.
Yeah, the rest of this story, I don't wanna talk about. The whole thing, it just....I know it's in there for a reason, but...yeah. OK. Um....see you guys.
