Matthew 21:42-44 Day of Fire did a great song called "Cornerstone" based on this verse. (Have I mentioned I always wanted to be a Christian music DJ?)
Whomever falls on this stone will be broken. This is necessary! It's not a fun process but it is for our own good. There is a difference between being broken and crushed, or ground to powder as v 44 says. Something broken can be put back together again, or fashioned into something else. I have seen God do this kind of work in my life many times, and I can only hope I become something more and more beautiful and pleasing to Him as He does His fashioning. Something ground to powder disperses in the wind; it's useless. I can see why the religious officials were upset. Jesus was right, and when someone hits me where I live with something I know they're dead on about, I have two choices: I can deny and get angry and refuse to change, or I can accept the criticism and seek to find where I might make a change in my heart, attitude, behavior, etc.
