I love the idea of the Year of Jubilee. It's like a great do-over, a giant reset button.
God is very clear in that we can and should trust Him to provide. I have seen this firsthand in my own life, and a couple I know who are just awesome have displayed that kind of faith and trust as of late and it has been such an encouragement. If you read this, Thanks, guys!
v 47-49 tells us that only God's people may be redeemed. What a neat picture of what Jesus was going to do.
Mark 1:23 The man with the unclean spirit was in the synagogue. That really struck me this time around. He wasn't out in the world; he was among the people of God. I seriously doubt any of my homies at church are demon posessed, but news flash, and I found this out in an unfortunate way myself: Not everyone who goes to church is genuine in their faith, wants the best for you, or can be trusted. I am so glad to be involved with folks that I can trust.
v 35: In the morning, having risen a long while before daylight.... I never thought I could do this. But if I can, anyone can. I know not everyone is a morning person, but I find this is the best time of the day to give to the Lord, the firstfruits of my time, if you will, before life intrudes. Today (Saturday) is the one day of the week I don't rise before daylight and reach for my Bible first thing. However, it is getting late in the morning and I best be getting to it. :-)
