Exodus:
I am very thankful we don't have to go through all those elaborate rituals; I'd have to be at the temple daily and probably put my poor father in the poorhouse from all the animals I'd have to offer for my many sins. A sincere, "Jesus, please forgive me" is not only easier on many levels, it's personal. His death made us friends of God if we so choose. If a friend wants my forgiveness, all they have to do is say so; it's done. They don't have to jump through hoops or buy me barbeque, although if they wanted to go for ribs that'd be fine. We could say sorry and go to Rib City Grill and catch up on what's been going on with each other....it'd be sweet. My point, and I do have one, is that I am finding myself even more thankful on a daily basis for Jesus' death on the cross.

Matthew:
When I was a kid, my mother loved to talk about the tribulation. In fact, she really liked to scare us in general, but this was special, cuz it was from the Bible. I remember worrying that I would be conned by a fake messiah and go with the wrong Jesus. And that verse about darkness....oh my goodness, when there was a power outage, I just knew it was the end of the world. Good times. I am so glad I don't have to worry about these things anymore. Oh, and if you think of it, pray for my mom. She still hasn't gotten it yet, despite the Joseph thing.

I really enjoyed this passage today. For a long time, when I would wake up in the morning, I would think, "Maybe He's coming today!" Nowadays I think, "I have got to pass this test today" and I miss the days it was all Jesus, but this is a season He is walking through with me, and I haven't hurt any patients yet, so who knows? This might work out after all. But be ready! If you have unfinished business, people to forgive, people to witness to...do it! We don't know how much time we have, and that can enable us to live life with excitement and expectation! We're going to Disney World next weekend, and I am as excited as I have been since I was a kid, because my dad's taking me, and my kids are going, and it's gonna be awesome! But the end of our story....oh....way better than Disney World! We're going to Heaven....maybe tomorrow....maybe next week....maybe in 2 sec

Just kidding. Have a great weekend!
