OK, I got yesterday's and today's entries backwards, probably due to brain overload.
It is a common misconception of Christianity that women are considered inferior. I don't think Jesus thought so. The following are not judgements, just ovservations. I have no patience for the "battle of the sexes" thing. Men are awesome. Women are awesome. God made us both, just differently.
The Bible doesn't mention any of Jesus' disciples keeping watch outside His tomb. It was a woman who rushed to get there as soon as the sabbath was over. We tend to be a bit more emotional. The guys might have thought, he's dead, what more can we do? We chicks tend to hang on a little longer to feelings sometimes, even if we don't admit it. Jesus appeared to a woman first, and I think it was a beautiful exchange. He didn't say, "Loose me, wench!" He was gentle with her.
Oh, about the big stone question, my stepmom found a book that delves into it; I'm gonna read it as soon as she and Dad are done with it.
But another thing piques me; (isn't that a great word?) The guards say, because they were bribed, "Uh, we fell asleep, and while we slept, some folks rolled the stone away....obviously real quietly, and took the body of Jesus away." Now, I know there are some folks who can sleep through anything (I am not one of them), but gimme a break! Something recently happened here in my 'hood, and something wasn't right; the story didn't add up, didn't make sense. This strikes me the same way.
